How to know if your Rabbit has a healthy tummy?
First of all diet is important to maintain a healthy gut. Daily diet of 80% edible hay, 15% safe greens & 5% safe pellets are mandatory.
All rabbit parents should closely monitor poop regularly. It would tell if your rabbit has some gastric issues, dehydrated etc..
Some insight about their types of poops would be helpful 👇
1. Fecal poops:
Rabbit poops should be consistent, little round balls. The color of normal rabbit poops can range anywhere from golden brown to dark brown to tan.Breaks easily into dust
2) Cecotropes:
These are little clusters of nutrient-packed soft pellets.
They are produced in the rabbits cecum, where natural bacteria and fungi live and transform the indigestible parts of a rabbit’s diet into this essential dietary item. Yes, that means rabbits need to eat their cecotropes to get all the nutrients they need from their food.
🐰Abnormal poops
1) Strung together – Rabbits frequently groom themselves but unlike cats, they can’t throw up. Any hair they are ingesting has to come out the other end. This will look like poop strung together by fur. This could cause a blockage. When you’re seeing hairy rabbit poop then your bunny is telling you they need to be brushed more. This could happen if they ingest human hair ad well.
2) Deformed – Small, misshaped rabbit poop indicates dehydration and a lack of fiber. You can increase hydration by offering wet veggies and/or increasing fluids (either syringe-feed extra water or administer sub-cutaneous fluids). Increase fiber by offering more hay and fewer treats and pellets.
3) Mushy poop – A rabbit suffering from cecal dysbiosis will produce cecotropes that are mushy, pasty or even liquid. They are usually quite foul-smelling, and often stick to the bunny’s back end in great, nasty clumps.
This also indicates that there is lack of fibre in diet & that they need to moved to fibrous hay based diet to prevent diarrhea.
Bunnies are such adorable little creatures, and they have a special knack for staying clean and tidy!🐇
They absolutely love grooming themselves and their bunny buddies. They spend lots of time delicately nibbling on their fur and giving themselves little bunny spa treatments. And get this, they even show their love by grooming their fellow bunnies, gently nibbling and grooming each other’s fur. It’s like a bunny spa day every day! 🐇💆♀️✨
1. Carrot – Are high in starch and carbohydrates which upset rabbit’s tummy – can cause soft stools, diarrhea & gi stasis.
2. Cauliflower- Cauliflower causes rabbits to bloat and become gassy. Gas is painful for rabbits as they cannot release gas like cats/dogs. If fed in large quantities your rabbit can die out of bloat & gi stasis
3. Cabbage – The sulfurous compounds bothers rabbits’ digestive systems, giving them diarrhea or gas. If fed in large quantities your rabbit can die out of bloat & gi stasis
*All the above 3 can be given as treat say upto 1 inch once a week (any one)
🐰Do not include them in daily diet

Hi guys! here are some tips and tricks on how to prevent your bunny from chewing your wooden furniture!

Note: Make sure you use shipping/packing tape. This can be found at any office supply store. Duct tape might be too harsh for your furniture that has been painted. Scotch tape and masking tape are big NO.

Not only will your little fur baby find it delicious, it is full of benefits! The crunch texture is great for grinding down their teeth. It is low in sugar, so it’s a great training treat and also an awesome foraging snack. Dandelion root has also been proven to help aid digestion, so it can be a great snack during heavy shedding periods.

Our FAVORITE rabbit toy isn’t even a “toy” – it’s a palm leaf bowl! We love these because they come in large packs, and they keep CB entertained for hours! As long as you buy untreated bowls, they are completely rabbit safe! And they even help keep your rabbit’s teeth in check.
