3 gewone voedingsmiddelen die je konijn kunnen doden! #konijn #rabbitcare #rabbithealth #pet #rabbitdiet #petcare

3 common food that can kill your rabbit!

1. Carrot – Are high in starch and carbohydrates which upset rabbit’s tummy – can cause soft stools, diarrhea & gi stasis.

2. Cauliflower- Cauliflower causes rabbits to bloat and become gassy. Gas is painful for rabbits as they cannot release gas like cats/dogs. If fed in large quantities your rabbit can die out of bloat & gi stasis

3. Cabbage – The sulfurous compounds bothers rabbits’ digestive systems, giving them diarrhea or gas. If fed in large quantities your rabbit can die out of bloat & gi stasis

*All the above 3 can be given as treat say upto 1 inch once a week (any one)
🐰Do not include them in daily diet
🐰✅️ Correct Rabbit diet – 80% edible hay, 15% safe greens & 5% safe pellets.

4 basic things required for your new pet rabbit.

1. Cage/Playpen/dog crate: Remember the 1st hand rule – ’the bigger the better’. Though rabbits are small animals they need a space much larger than their size. Ideal setup should have dimensions of 4x4x4 ft.
-Follow an open door policy for your rabbit, do not lock the door unless it’s necessary – your rabbit would understand that the cage is his personal space & is not meant for captivity.
-I have used a standard size cage that is suitable for a small/baby rabbit. Snow (rabbit) in the video lives in a playpen double this cage’s size 🙂

2. Litter Box – This is your rabbit’s personal toilet as they can be perfectly litter trained. Keep some edible hay (Timothy ) or grass on one side of the tray – as they by nature have the habit of eating and pooping.

3. Timothy hay – This is a Staple rabbit food for all adult rabbits (5 months and above). You can use Alfafa hay for young rabbits. Fresh Grass (Durva) can be given alternative to hay.

4. Fresh water – Rabbits drink a lot of Fresh water with correct diet so it should be available to them 24×7.
