Bekijk je de uitslagen op de website van ORWEJA dan blijkt het, op het oog, simpele korte apport van een konijn voor veel combinaties helemaal niet zo simpel te zijn…
Zijn jullie zo’n combinatie dan heb je nu weer een jaar de tijd om allereerst eens te analyseren waar de uitdaging bij dit korte apport ligt en daarna hier rustig op door te trainen.
Waar ligt jou uitdaging?
Springt je hond in omdat het zo dichtbij gegooid wordt?
Komt hij te hard op het konijn waardoor hij schept in plaats van raapt?
Raapt hij niet gelijk maar blijft hij boven het konijn snuffelen?
Laat hij tussendoor een keer los?
Geeft hij het konijn niet model af?
Heeft hij zo en zo moeite met dit harige beest?
Wordt hij te enthousiast van een konijn en/of gaat hij er te onvoorzichtig mee om?
Is het voor jou helder waar precies de bottle neck zit dan ga je op dat losse onderdeel trainen. Het heeft niet zoveel zin om de hond steeds het gehele korte apport konijn aan te bieden als er alleen maar extra begeleiding op 1 schakel van de hele ketting nodig is. Juist die schakel moet je eruit zien te pakken en hier train je op door.
Eusje is een zeer snel hondje, haar ‘bottle neck’ bij het konijn is soms het rapen wat je, vooral in volle snelheid, meer ‘scheppen’ mag noemen. Ze neemt niet altijd voldoende tijd om het juist te rapen dan moet ze weleens verpakken om het correct in haar vang te nemen. In het fimpje (in een prikkelarme omgeving) zie je dat vasthouden, afgeven en inkomend apporteren goed gaat. Bij uitgaand apporteren verpakt ze een keer.
Dit is voor mij die ene schakel waar ik trainingsarbeid in stop. Zoek ook de zwakke schakel bij jou hond, train dit los totdat je hond het goed begrepen heeft wat wel de bedoeling is.
Krijg je dat voor elkaar dan kan je volgend jaar bij de proeven zelfverzekerd dit ‘simpele’ onderdeel afleggen;-)
